Yoga Dakshinamurti

     Kaverippakkam, North Arcot District. About 7th Century AD.

    Dakshinamurti seated with his left leg on the seat. One of the hands is broken. He has a snake and two deer beneath his seat. Jatabhara, armlets, wristlets, Yajnopavita, Padasaras and heavy waist zone, akshamala, book and fire are present.

Ganesa

     Kaverippakkam, North Arcot District. About 7th Century AD.

    Ganesa seated. Crown is broken. The hands have the usual weapons except that the left upper holds akshamala.

 

 

Surya

     Kaverippakkam, North Arcot District. About 7th Century AD.

     Surya standing with kirita makuta, necklets, armlets and all the usual ornaments. Hands are broken and missing and the face is somewhat weather beaten. There is the usual bhamandala around his head.
